After a rigorous process, Alpha 311 has launched its equity crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube, open to investors across the UK and EU.
It's a significant step for the company, and one that will get us ready to manufacture our turbines.
Why did we choose Crowdcube?
There are several equity crowdfunding platforms operating in the UK and EU, and we looked at several before deciding where to launch. We chose Crowdcube for three reasons:
- Scale and track record. Crowdcube is Europe’s largest equity crowdfunding platform, having raised more than £2.2 billion across 1,500+ campaigns since 2011, including well-known names like Monzo and Revolut.
- It has the largest active retail investor community, boasting more than 1.9 million registered investors. It gives us direct access to the kind of individual investors we want backing Alpha 311.
- Its thorough due diligence. Crowdcube is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority in the UK and Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores (CNMV) in Europe. As a result, it carefully reviews every pitch, checking the legal structure, financials and – importantly - using independent evidence to check any claims a business makes. Alpha 311 has been through that process in full.
What this evidence-based approach means for potential investors
Passing this review doesn't remove the risk that comes with investing in an early-stage company - that risk is real, and Crowdcube is clear about it. What it does mean is that the claims in our pitch, our figures, the organisations we work with, and our team's backgrounds have all been independently checked by a regulated third party.
If we say that our turbine's design makes it more efficient, we have to prove it.
For anyone considering an investment, that’s a meaningful starting point: you’re not relying solely on our word. You’re looking at a business that has already undergone external scrutiny, including review of the evidence behind our claims.
